Honors Community & Event Planning Intern (J-term, Spring, or Summer)
Goal: Develop a robust calendar of Honors events & workshops including planning, management and implementation of each event
Tasks:
- Identify a calendar of standard events hosted each semester/year
- Coordinate with respective offices/departments to establish dates, times and location
- Develop a budget for each event that aligns to the campus mission and program requirements
Projects:
- Participate as a student representative of the Honors Program in new student orientation, and recruitment events
- Host/lead 5-10 events per semester
- Create and distribute follow up surveys to demonstrate effectiveness or updates to consider (based upon university mission, Honors mission, career readiness, etc.)
- Add upcoming events to the Events@Fredonia calendar platform on the Fredonia website
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while still being reliable and practicing good communication to ensure invested parties and colleagues are kept informed of daily activity
- Undergraduate Honors student with an interest in event planning
- Able to manage multiple tasks and timeliness simultaneously
Who are we looking for?
- Creative individual passionate about student engagement
- Undergraduate Honors student having completed a minimum one-year in the program
- Knowledgeable in campus resources
- Responsiveness to email, or virtual feedback, and requests or edits in a timely fashion
Details about the role
- 120 hours total during the 17-week semester
- Approximately 8-10 hours per week)
