Social Media Intern (Spring and/or Fall)

Goal: Create, manage, and optimize 17 weeks of daily, cross channel social media content to tell the story of the Honors Program, promote upcoming events, and share success and tips

Tasks:
  • Create an actionable calendar plan to maintain and grow social media followers in fresh ways
  • Research, initiate, and analyze social media techniques for polls and quizzes
  • Utilize the Instagram Story feature to tell the story of the Honors Program

Projects:
  • Design social media messaging for multiple platforms (social media, website and campus calendar)
  • Produce and upload at least two, 15-30 second smart phone videos each week focusing on an upcoming Honors Program event, or success story

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while still being reliable and practicing good communication to ensure invested parties and colleagues are kept informed of daily activity
  • Undergraduate Honors student with an interest in social media implementation plans
  • Adept or willing to learn how to analyze social media data, analytics, insights and trends to determine what content is and isn’t garnering engagement
  • Promising writer with an eye for detail, including self-editing
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and timeliness simultaneously

Who are we looking for?
  • Social media savvy with prior successful engagement to increase followers/activity
  • Undergraduate Honors student with an interest in promotions, social media outreach having completed a minimum of one upper level course in a relevant major/program (Honors student preferred, however documented relevant experience is favored as well)
  • Responsiveness to email, or virtual feedback, and requests or edits in a timely fashion
 
Details about the role:
  • 120 hours total during the 17-week semester
  • Approximately 8-10 hours per week)
